Common questions

Call or text (484) 602-2749 if your question is not here.

Do I need to be home?

You generally do not need to be home for work on your fence, as long as the gates are unlocked, all pets are secured, and you are okay with us being on the property.

How do quotes work?

We generally try to give a ballpark estimate over the phone. If we agree on that number, we will come out, assess the site, and provide an exact quote.

Do I need a permit?

For new fences and replacements, yes. For repairs, generally no. We can handle the permit work if needed.

How long does the job take?

Most repairs are completed in a few hours. Small installs usually take one to two days. Weather and ground conditions have a large impact on how quickly a job can be completed.

Will you take the old fence out?

Yes. Tear-down, removal, and disposal are part of the quote when needed.

How close to the property line can it go?

This is township dependent. It will most likely need to be specified when we go through the permit process. Having property line pins or a survey is critical to getting this correct.

Do I need a survey?

You only need a survey if you are not sure where your property line is, or if you are concerned about neighbor disputes. Surveys are cheaper than having to move a fence later.

What about my HOA?

Generally, homeowners working directly with their HOA is the best solution. We can also work with your HOA and include that in the quote.

What about underground lines?

We call 811 before we dig. Utilities complete marking before digging begins. Known buried items such as sprinklers or homeowner-installed electrical lines need to be disclosed. You will sign an agreement releasing us from liability for unmarked private lines prior to construction.

How soon can you start?

Our calendar changes daily due to project progress and weather. We usually get a repair in within two weeks. New installs are generally planned about a month out. When scheduling, we usually give a one-week time frame for the install, then we adjust as we get closer.

Are you insured?

Yes. Veteran-owned and fully insured. Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor number PA225259.

What size jobs do you take?

Repairs and installs under 150 feet. The jobs larger companies will not come out for. We also do fence and deck staining.

Do I need a fence around my pool?

Pennsylvania requires a barrier around a residential pool or spa. Statewide minimums under the Uniform Construction Code:

  • Barrier at least 48 inches high, measured from the outside
  • Gap at the bottom no more than 2 inches over grass or gravel, or 4 inches over a solid surface
  • Openings cannot pass a 4-inch sphere
  • Pedestrian gates open away from the pool, and are self-closing and self-latching
  • Latch at least 54 inches above the ground on the outside, or on the pool side at least 3 inches below the top of the gate
  • A town may require more, but not less

An approved pool safety cover can take the place of a barrier in some cases. We will build to the code the township inspects to.
